Atkins:I’ve learned so much, especially about how to coach top-tier players. One key takeaway is the “joyful culture” he emphasizes consistently. His ability to control emotions, particularly in crucial moments and games, showcases his calmness. You can see him making championship-level decisions—whether it’s substitutions or determining which player should sit out during a playoff series; he has an excellent intuition for who should be on the court at critical times. Additionally, I appreciate the stories he shares about Phil Jackson and his own playing days. Steve involves everyone—not just superstars but all team members—from number one to eighteen—and that inclusivity makes every day enjoyable working with him; he's truly outstanding.
